The system-oriented research at IRIS is inspired by real applications, which makes multi-disciplinary collaborations natural. The academic and industrial collaborations ensure that our research is relevant and has scientific as well as socio-economic impact.
We have strong collaborations with various groups/clusters at different faculties within TU/e. Examples include: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Formal System Analysis (FSA), Software Engineering and Technology (SET), and Security (SEC) clusters at Mathematics and Computer Science (M&CS); Electronic Systems (ES) and Electro-Optical Communications (EOC) groups at Electrical Engineering (EE); Information Systems IE&IS, Operations, Planning, Accounting & Control (OPAC) and Human Technology Interaction (HTI) groups at Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences (IE&IS); and Building Lighting (BL) group at Built Environment (BE).
Being well embedded within the Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute (EAISI) and Intelligent Lighting Institute (ILI) at TU/e offers IRIS opportunities for performing multi-disciplinary research.
In terms of industrial collaborations, IRIS has strong collaborations with large industries (e.g. Philips, Signify, NXP, ASML) and small companies in the neighborhood.
Internationally, we have close collaborations with Max Planck (Germany), Aalborg University (Denmark), Malerdalen University (Sweden), and University of Augsburg (Germany).
